About this tool
How small can a PDF actually get?
Text-only documents usually drop 40 to 70 percent with no visible change. Scans and image-heavy files can go much further, but there is a point past which printed detail is gone — the preview is there so you can spot it before you download.
Does my document get uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool processes the file in your browser, so it never leaves your device. Tools that do need a server say so on their own page, and those files are deleted within an hour.
Is there a file size limit?
25 MB per file on the free plan, 500 MB on Pro. Batch runs of up to 100 files are a Pro feature.
Will the text still be searchable?
Yes. The text layer is left intact, so search, copy, and screen readers keep working. Only embedded images are recompressed.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes, on any plan. The file is yours, there is no watermark, and nothing is attributed back to us.
